We simply offer the most original and most collectable vintage and rare instruments at reasonable prices. And as always, "WE BUY GUITARS."
Please call during business hours for an accurate in-hand description or to order an instrument. The submission of an order by phone, email, or any other type of electronic transaction does not constitute our acceptance of the order. We do offer a 24-hour approval period on our guitars for authenticity.
Many of our instruments are investment grade and of museum quality. Due to the fragile nature of certain collectable grade guitars, which are susceptible to damage in shipment due to handling and/or extreme weather conditions, approval may not be available on all instruments. Please allow 24 hours for instruments to acclimate to their new environment before opening the carton and inspecting. We cannot offer approval for amps, consignment instruments, layaway items, guitars discounted below our posted price, or items shipping internationally. These items are sold "As Is" without express warranty intended or implied.
Orders may be placed online, in person, or over the phone. The submission of an order by phone, email, or any other type of electronic transaction does not constitute our acceptance of the order. After an order is placed, there is a small grace period to ensure the item is in stock and the payment method is valid. For this reason, Jim's Guitars reserves the right to refuse an order without prior notification. A staff member will contact you regarding payment and shipping details after your order is submitted and the grace period is complete.
As our customers know, not all guitars are created equal. In turn the same philosophy applies to our shipping. A shipping quote will be generated and sent to you via email after an order is placed. However, you may contact a staff member via email or by phone during regular business hours for a shipping quote before you place an order. Any additional fees including duties, VAT, or any other charges related to international shipping are the sole responsibility of the buyer and are non-refundable. Shipping forms will reflect the purchase price and will not be altered. Due to shipping lengths and Customs operations, we cannot offer approval on items to our overseas buyers. International orders require payment via bank wire transfer.

A minimum down payment of 20% is required to layaway/hold an item. The down payment is required in cash, and is refundable as store credit only. Balances must be paid in full within 30 days. When choosing the option for layaway/hold, the 24-hour approval period is forfeited. Items on layaway that are canceled are subject to an 18% restocking fee. Consignment items do not qualify for layaway/hold.
Shipping and handling will be determined after an online order is submitted. Customers may also call during business hours or email for a shipping quote. Please supply us with the complete shipping address, so we may provide the most accurate rate. We typically ship using Fed Ex Ground. Faster service and insurance is available, including overnight, upon request for an additional fee.
Due to temperature and humidity variations, we advise that shipments are allowed to acclimate to their new facility/home for at least 24 hours prior to opening the carton and examining the instrument.
International Customers please note: Any additional fees including duties, VAT, or any other charges related to international shipping are the responsibility of the buyer and are non-refundable. Shipping forms will reflect the purchase price and will not be altered.
All returns must be authorized by the store, however, return authorizations will not be issued without phone or in person contact - no emails. Guitars returned within the 24-hour approval period will have a refund issued, less shipping and related expenses. Any guitars returned after the 24-hour approval period, and not exceeding two weeks, are subject to an 18% re-stocking fee. Anything shipped to us not bearing a valid return authorization number provided by us will not be accepted by our receiving department. Instruments must be returned in the same condition as shipped. The buyer is responsible for the instrument during the approval period. Proof of insurance is required before return authorizations will be issued. All returns must be shipped back via a service comparable with which it was delivered immediately upon return authorization.
All personal and company/business information is for our own use to better serve our customers. We do NOT release any customer information to third parties.
Anyone may subscribe to our mailing list by either purchasing an item or requesting subscription via email. Jim's Guitars will occasionally send e-mails to our customers to inform them of sales, special offers, or other relevant news..
